Our Goal

Our goal is to decrease the poverty of Sri Lankan who lives in rural areas. For each donation, we will choose a rural village and provide food, clothing, and other basic amenities such as transportation fees, medicines, and school supplies for them. For long term goals, we are hoping to make tube wells for villages that have no clean water for daily usage or to drink. Additionally, we would like to build sustainable houses for people who are homeless or those in small cottages with poor living conditions. By providing basic needs to their parents, we can encourage the children to go school and have a proper education instead of having to work to help their family. By giving proper education to these kids, we can give them the support to grow stronger and take care of themselves, their families, and the country.

Our Motive

The main purpose of our charity is to relieve poverty in the poorest families of rural areas in Sri Lanka. Despite how the country has developed over the years, rural poverty is still a problem within Sri Lanka. Most of these villagers do not have any income or they earn small amounts of money for working daily labour jobs. Most of them only eat vegetables they grow in their back yards, with some rice. They would drink plain black tea for their whole life, maybe with a little bit of sugar. Even babies and small children grow up without drinking milk because they don't have money to buy any expensive items like milk products. They also can't afford to buy food or clothing. They would wear the same set of clothing repeatedly until they eventually get worn out completely. Most Sri Lankan parents in these areas keep infants without clothing until they grow big to cover their body. Some parents are unable to send their kids to school since they fail to buy school supplies, clothes and shoes for them.

They might have an unowned tiny land to live, but their houses are not sustainable to live in. These houses are mostly made with clay that is dug from the ground and the roofs are made with coconut leaves or with tin sheets. These houses have no electricity, they would use candles to light up their house. And they never get clean water to drink from unless there is a lake or river. Some villagers in Sri Lanka have to walk miles to fetch water for their initial needs. They walk for miles to get water, so they only bathe maybe once a week. They would walk long distances by foot for daily needs because they cannot afford for transit or there are no buses at all in these rural ares. Unfortunately, these people have been forgotten by the government. They are helpless and hungry. Therefor, as Sri Lankans and as human beings we should take care of them.
